Victor Torp seals Coventry’s Carabao Cup win at Plymouth in six-goal thriller

Coventry City survived a Plymouth Argyle comeback to win a six-goal Carabao Cup tie 4-2. Taiwo Awoniyi opened his account for the club and Jack Rudoni made it 2-0 inside the first four minutes and six seconds.
Plymouth refused to fold. Oliver Irow reduced the deficit before the break, and Xavier Amaechi equalised in the 54th minute after dispossessing Liam Kitching. Substitute Ephron Mason-Clark then put Coventry back in front, with Victor Torp converting a late penalty to secure a place in the third round.
Frank Lampard welcomed a first victory of the season, while Plymouth manager Tom Cleverley praised his side's response after such a difficult start.
